As the coronavirus spreads, many are looking back on the Great Influenza Epidemic of 1918. [1] [2] There is an important lesson to be learned from the Great Influenza Epidemic of 1918 in regards to using homeopathy to treat the flu--and the coronavirus is a flu like disease. During the Great Flu Epidemic, homeopathic doctors--including medical doctors, meaning ship surgeons and hospitals had a recorded death rate of 2%-3% vs. 60%-90% with conventional treatment, which usually meant aspirin. Today, we now know that aspirin does not cure but, merely mimics the fever suppression protein. By contrast, homeopathy was very effective against the flu was clear to all and this led to homeopathy's zenith.
The records are public health records, government health records, military records of ship surgeons confirmed by the lack of use of coffins and more. The results were similar and recorded worldwide--in Russia, the United States and England. While test kits are being manufactured and pharmaceutical researchers are scrambling to make vaccines for the coronavirus the public and the CDC should seriously consider homeopathic treatment, especially prophylactic treatment.
Homeopathy is a symptom based treatment. While a full symptom picture is not yet available, the most prominent symptom of the coronavirus is the dry cough. [3] [4] A most highly recommended homeopathic remedy for dry cough is Rhus Tox, which (some experiences have indicated) may be very effective in treating coronavirus. Other remedies suitable for dry cough are antimonium tartaricum, nux vomica, hyoscyamus and silica.
Also, the AIH (American Institute of Homeopathy) has noted that various doctors have treated corona virus with the homeopathic remedies bryonia and lobelia purpurascens (which is currently not available in the U.S.) and reported good results.
Researchers should experiment with homeopaths to determine the efficacy of various homeopathic remedies with coronavirus. Especially, as in years past, during flu epidemics with shortages of vaccines, CDC doctors have advised the use of homeopathic remedies for the flu. In addition, as homeopathic remedies have been used prophylactically in epidemics and there is no vaccine; it would be prudent to investigate the potential of homeopathy as preventative for covid19.
Individuals should consider attempting homeopathic prophylactic treatment for the coronavirus with Rhus Tox, Antimonium Tartaricum and Bryonia. While this has not been tested or proven, in light of the lack of a vaccine and the harmless nature of homeopathic remedies, the attempt is certainly worth the potential good outcome. (Also, the cost per treatment is quite low, these are all common homeopathic remedies that are readily available.)
The acknowledged homeopathic prophylactic treatment is to take a remedy, 3 times a day for 3 days, usually of a 30C potency, along with other considerations such as not to drink coffee during the time period, etc.
